Title: Healthcare Reform event presented by the UAHuntsville College Democrats
Location: On the UAHuntsville campus in the Student Center’s exhibit hall
Description: Free and open to the public.
UAHuntsville College Democrats are holding a healthcare reform meeting. The speaker is Pippa Abston, MD, PhD, a Huntsville pediatrician. She is a member of Physicians for a National Health Program and North Alabama Healthcare For All.
During this historic window of opportunity for real change, we must make the right financial and moral choice for our country. This presentation is about how a Single Payer healthcare system operates, the financial solutions it offers and why it’s the right moral choice for our country.
We’ll also cover the successes other countries have had with Single Payer, and talk about how students and others can make a difference in this fight for real healthcare reform!
A question/answer session will follow the talk.

Description: Why does America have plenty of money to spend on wars that fail to make us safer, but can’t find funds to meet the basic human right of healthcare for all her citizens? The time has come to redirect unnecessary and wasteful military spending to meeting human needs. The rally sponsors are the North Alabama Peace Network and North Alabama Healthcare for All. Everyone is welcome. Bring your own signs, or we will have extras on hand. This rally will be held rain or shine.

We will carpool to Nashville, TN for the “Mad As Hell Doctors” tour stop.
Various activities are planned to bring attention to the doctors and single payer healthcare.
It will be an honor to meet and support these doctors who are making a national splash with their Single Payer Care-A-Van!
